What more do we need to say......an incredible sunrise and "fish on!"
A little wet wading! Warm weather, fantastic scenery and fresh sea liced coho on a swung fly.
A large arbor reel with lots of backing is a must. These coho can reach over 20lbs and when you are fortunate enough to hook into one of them you will need every bit of help you can get!
Did I mention the scenery!! It is very special to wake up each day on the banks of the Skeena river, crawl out of your tent and look up to see this! Not soon forgotten!
Another fresh ocean run West Coast coho taken on a swung fly!
Working the run on an early morning start! The more time you put in with your fly in the water the more the fish gods reward you! The challenge with migrating fish is the wait and at different points in time through out the day they will come by and you need to be there, ready and waiting.
A big fresh sea liced coho buck......lots of fun on spey gear!
Fresh coho give a heck of a fight, and even after that they are still ready to continue their journey!
As the sun rises over the far mountains an early morning start allows one to appreciated the awesomeness of Canada's west coast!
Fresh west coast coho really seem to like the bright coloured flies. You just need to keep it in the water and wait for amigrating fish and your fly to meet.....then hold on!!
